We invite you to join a week of behind-the-scenes activities at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. With limited participation, this is a unique opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of the commitment required to sustain and conserve a private wilderness area in South Africa.
Kwandwe’s purpose as a tourism-conservation entity is to contribute sustainably to the environment, protect the incredible biodiversity of the Eastern Cape, and positively impact the surrounding communities. There are a number of procedures and activities that must take place daily in order for us to do this.
3-nights at Ecca Lodge:R 36 675 per person (including 25% discount)
Conservation Contribution: R15 000 per person (rhino conservation fee + C&C levy)
Afternoon game drive.
Sundowners with Angus Sholto Douglas, Director, and an introduction to the Great Fish River Valley and the Kwandwe conservation story.
Set up of rhino monitoring camera traps.
Spekboom planting.

Rhino walking safari
Demonstration of the thermal drones, Earth Ranger technology and Rouxcell collars.
Dinner with veterinarian Dr Will Fowlds.
Full day of rhino conservation experiences, including notching, darting and collecting DNA samples.
Dinner with the rhino conservation team.
Morning game drive and departure.
