Location
Ecca Lodge offers an indoor-outdoor lifestyle embracing the African wilderness. Set in the heart of the Private Reserve overlooking a valley, the lodge offers breath-taking views onto an escarpment of shale cliffs. A highlight of the main guest area is a wooden viewing deck that showcases the exceptional views.
Accommodation
With only six suites, the lodge is intimate and relaxed, with interiors inspired by the natural textures of the African bush. The luxury suites accommodate two adults each, while the private vehicle suites host up to two adults and two children and include an exclusive vehicle and dedicated guide. All rooms have private plunge pools and outdoor showers to enhance the connection with nature.
Activities
Included in your stay are twice-daily game drives and guided bush walks accompanied by an armed ranger. Experience Kwandwe’s wildlife and landscapes from an open safari vehicle, or explore the smaller details of the bush on foot, from animal tracks and signs to the region’s diverse flora. Guests in Private Vehicle Suites are allocated a private guide and vehicle. Back at the lodge, guests can enjoy time at leisure beside their private plunge pool, make use of the shared lodge facilities, or discover a selection of games and family-friendly pursuits available at the lodge.

The nearest major airport is Port Elizabeth (PLZ), 160 km (100 miles) from the reserve. Daily flights are available from Cape Town (CPT) and Johannesburg (JNB) international airports. From Port Elizabeth, it’s a 2-hour drive or a scenic helicopter flight (inquire for costs) to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Alternatively, for a truly exclusive arrival, land directly on the reserve’s private Category 3 airstrip. Inquire for details on charter flights and GPS coordinates.
