Alongside morning and afternoon game drives, included in every stay is the opportunity to experience a walking safari ( either to view big game, or to enjoy the subtle, unseen wonders of the bush), a fishing safari, or a night drive.

Twice daily game drives
Explore the reserve on early morning and late afternoon game drives in an open 4×4 safari vehicle. An armed ranger and tracker team will share their extensive knowledge as you track the Big Five and a variety of wildlife. Morning drives begin as dawn breaks over the Great Fish River as the predators finish their nocturnal hunts, whilst in the late afternoon, wildlife can be spotted coming down to the river to drink.

Bush walks
Experience Kwandwe from a different perspective as you explore the reserve on foot with a qualified guide. These shorter walks offer the opportunity to discover tracks, animal behaviour, plant life and the finer details of the wilderness often overlooked from a vehicle. Subject to availability, walks are adapted to suit guest age, confidence and prevailing conditions on the day.

Fishing
Kwandwe offers a variety of catch-and-release fishing options. Fish for bass in the still waters of Galpin Dam or target yellowfish and catfish in the pools and eddies of the Great Fish River. A fun activity for children – as well as the young at heart – fishing expeditions can be tailored to suit your timings and interests.
